We walked into class, put our chairs down and took out our agendas. Ms. Nakada put on the take a minute video and after Nayeli read her blog and chose me to do the next one. After, we took out our notebooks and wrote down the song of the week, "Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order. Then, we started Shakespeare 101 and went over Twelfth Night . Then, the bell rang, and we left class. 

 AGENDA: Take a minute  Blog corrections  Week 20: Q.Q.S.L iReady EOY Diagnostic Shakespeare 101 HW: AR 100% We came into class and took out our binder reminders  to write to agenda of the day. A few minutes after I was chosen to do the next blog . We then did the Week 20: Q.Q.S.L. Quote: "Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them." William Shakespeare.  Question: Where do you see yourself in ten years.   After that, we made sure who had and who did not turn in the trip slips for this Friday. The bell then rang so we packed up and went to our next class.

Then, Ian read his blog and choose me to write the next one. We took the week 19 quiz and some people finished the iReady diagnostic. The bell rang, we packed up our stuff, and went to our next class.

He then picked me. We started to work on our lines of the week, "Reasons To Live Through The Apocalypse" by Nikita Gill. After all that, we completed our EOY diagnostic. We packed up and got ready for our next class.

We started to do take a minute, then after that, 💅 we did Blog corrections. we did the week 19 Line of the week "Everybody's Free (to wear sunscreen)" by Baz Luhrmann. We started to do the iReady diagnostic.

Ms .Nakada couldn't find a take a minute video so we wrote down our agendas, and we wrote the quote: "If you don't like something change it. If you cant change it change your attitude" by Maya Angelou. After that, we wrote down the question What is one thing you will take and one thing you will leave behind? After that, we started to work on the iReady diagnostic for the rest of class. Once the bell rang, we pushed in our chairs and we left.

 Agenda take a minute blog-corrections week 18 quiz original oratories  HW complete all make up work Due Tuesday We walked in class, took out our binder reminders and wrote down the agenda. After we wrote down the agenda Ms. Nakada read us her original oratory. She let us get started on are original oratories and she said it has to be at least four hundred words. We finished class with the week 18 quiz. 

 Agenda  take a minute  blog corrections week 18: QQSL Poetry Slam Prep HW: Prep for Poetry Slam iReady 40-45 minutes (2 lessons) last week We walked into class, put our chairs down, and took a minute. After that, Ethan read his blog and chose me to write the next one. Then, we took out our English notebooks and talked about the poem "The Laughing Heart" by Charles Bukowski. After that, we got into our groups for our Poetry Slam. After that, the fire alarm rang, and we packed up to go to the field.

 take a minute blog corrections week 18: Q Q S L poetry slam prep HW: prep for poetry slam iReady  40-45 min (2 lessons) - last week We entered the room, lowered the chairs, wrote our agendas and took a minute. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada read Kaeden's blog to us and chose me for the next blog. Then, we wrote the song of the week titled "Forever Young" by Alphaville. Next, Ms. Nakada gave us some poetry packets. We would look for a group to work with or we could do the work on our own. The bell rang, and we went to the next class.

It was about the acronym, RAIN, which is helpful if we are avoiding our feelings and instead scrolling through social media or watching tv as a form of escape. RAIN stands for: recognize, allow, investigate and nurture.  Kai read her blog and then picked Kaeden. Then, we did the quote and question:  "Awards become corroded. Friends gather no dust." Jesse Owens What awards/accomplishments can you include on college/scholarship applications?  Then we worked on our poetry submissions. 

  AGENDA take a minute  blog - corrections Week 17 Quiz Poetry Gallery Walk Homework: iReady 40-45 min. 2 lessons A.R. 100% We silently walked into the class room, and took out our binder reminders. While we were writing down the agenda, we started to watch our take a minute. Afterwards, we started working on our week 17 quiz then, started finishing up on our NaPoWriMo submissions. When we finished, we packed up and got dismissed to leave.

Agenda take a minute blog corrections original oratories NaPoWriMo submissions HW: iReady 40-45 minutes (2 lessons) AR 100%   We all walk into class. I put down my belongings and write down the agenda for the day. As soon as I am done with the agenda, Xavier reads his blog. Once he was finished, he decided to choose me for the next blog. Today, we are going to learn about original oratories. As I am writing down the instructions on the original oratory, Ms. Nakada begins to read one of her own original oratories from 2018. Her speech was mostly about making ever moment count. After that, we began to write original oratories as well as finish  broadsides for our poems we made the whole month of April.

 Agenda:  Take a minute Blog Corrections Week 17: Q Q S L NaPoWriMo Submissions HW:  iReady 40-45 min 2 lessons AR 100% We walked in put the chairs down, and then we took a minute. After we took a minute, Camila read her blog, then chose me. Then, Ms. Nakada passed out papers regarding the eighth grade Field Day Trip to UCLA Sunset Recreation Center. Next, we did lines for Quote Question Song Lines. We took notes on "Let Revive the Golden Rule" TED TALK by Karen Armstrong. After we listened to the TED TALK, we discussed about the notes we took down. Shortly after, we packed up and left class.

After that, we took a minute. Then, Gauge read his blog and chose me to write the next. Ms. Nakada then corrected his blog. After that, we took out our English notebooks and wrote the quote and question.  Quote: "Nothing in the Golden Rule says that others will treat us as we have treated them. It only says we must treat others in a way that we want to be treated." Rosa Parks Question: What should we learn/not learn at school? Then, we presented our Black Author Projects. 

AGENDA take a minute blog corrections week 16 Q.Q.S.L HW: Make up missing iReady.  We started off with writing our agenda then Ms. Nakada read Zak's blog. Then, she fixed all the typos. Next, we wrote down our notes and talked about making our poem books. Then, we watched two videos on high schoolers in a poetry slam. We took the quiz for week 16 and then worked on our Black author projects.

Then, Chris picked me to do the blog. After that, we started reading the poem "Learning To Love America" Shirley Geok-Lin Lim. After that, we did our Black history projects. After that, we packed up.
