  Agenda   Take a minute  Blog corrections Week 8: Q Q S L Graduation requirements RJ 8.3 [HW] Read/iReady IXL for 20-30 minutes and record! Class started and we entered the classroom and sat in our seats. Ms. Nakada asked for trip slips from the students and they gave them to her. Then, she checked our IXL and iReady minutes. After, we took out our English notebooks to review our Quote Question Song Lines and talked about how society treats women with our song being " Flawless."   Afterwards we went over graduation requirements. Soon the bell rang, we packed our things and left for period 2.

  Agenda Take a minute  Blog corrections Week 8: QQSL Literature circles HW RJ 8.2 Read,iReady,IXL, for 20-30 minutes & record! We came into class and took down our chairs. Then, we wrote down the agenda, and took a minute. After, Ms. Nakada called Giovanni to do his blog, then he chose me to do the next blog. After we wrote down the agenda, we took a minute to do writers workshop. Then, we did QQSL. Our quote of the week was, "The measure of any society is how it treats its women and girls" by Michelle Obama. Then, we began to talk about if we treat women and girls right. Then, we did our question of the week which was, "How do you experience both privilege and oppression?" Then, the bell rang, and we pushed in our chairs and left.

 AGENDA take a minute blog corrections letter collection reader's workshop week 8: Q . Q . S. L lit. circles HW: Read / iReady / IXL for 20-30 minutes & record! We walked into class pulled the chairs down and wrote down the agenda. We took a minute and Ms. Nakada called Kimberly to read her blog. She chose me for the next blog. Afterwards, she collected trip slips, and class dues. Then we did the Week 7 quote. "We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks. After that, we took the Week 7 Quiz. "We  real cool. We Left school. We  Lurk late. We  Strike Straight. We  Sing sing. We  Thin gin. We  Jazz June. We Die Soon."

Take a minute Blog corrections Read's workshop/SLC letters Week 7:quiz Hw: Read SLC letters to parents & return with a response. We got inside the classroom and sat down as we pulled our binder-reminder out to write the Agenda. Next, thing we do is our agenda and taking a minute, Ms. Nakada called Elias to read his blog. After Elias read his blog, he picked me to do my blog. We take out our writing journal and listen to a song name "Freedom" by Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar, and then the bell rang.

AGENDA take a minute  blog corrections  reader's workshop/SLC letters week 7 : Q.Q.S.L Today we walked into class. We put our chairs down. After that, Manuel got up and read his blog. After he read his blog, he chose me to do the next blog. Today we read an article about slavery and about presidents. After that, we just had to write something to our parents about how we are doing in class. After that, we went and we didn't get to listen to the song of the week, "Freedom'' by Beyonce and feat. Kendrick Lamar. After that, we packed up and pushed our chairs in and left.

 AGENDA Take a minute Blog corrections  Reader's/writer's workshop Week 7: Q Q S L SLC letters  HW: make-up reading journals book projects due tomorrow! We entered the class, lowered the chairs and took a minute, then wrote the agenda. Jeremy read the blog and chose me. After Ms. Nakada started checking binder reminders and reading journals, Ms. Nakada gave us a piece of paper to make a map with the events of the Inside Out And Back Again book and their places. Then, Ms. Nakada asked us to do the Inside Out And Back Again AR test.The bell rang, and we went to the next class.

 Agenda take a minute  blog-corrections  readers'/ writers workshop week 7 QQSL book projects HW-make up reading journals      We walked in class and put ours chairs down from the table. After that, Ms. Nakada started to read the blog. She also went over a permission slip for our field trip coming up. We have to have it returned by next week. We were also reminded that our 8th grade dues are due on the 29th of this month. After, we went over the quote of the week. "Take all the courses in your curriculum. Do the research. Ask questions. Be curious." Katherine Johnson.  We also went over the an essay explaining knowledge we do not know about Presidents' Day.

Agenda Take a minute . Blog corrections . Reader's/Writer's Workshop . Week 6 quiz HW   Enjoy the 3 day weekend! We walked into class and put down our chairs. Then, we wrote down the agenda and Yarreni read the blog. After, she read the blog she chose me. Afterwards, Ms. Nakada checked our binder reminders and reading journals. Then, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our chromebooks and finish our  Inside Out and Back Again essays. After, Ms. Nakada started to hand out the sample essays to help us write ours. Then, Ms. Nakada told us that we had five minutes to finish writing what we can and turn in our essays. Afterwards, told us to do our week six quiz. Then, we packed up and left.

 AGENDA Take a minute  blog corrections  reader's/ writer's/ workshop  5 week grade  HW: RJ 6.4 Read or IXL  or iReady for 20-30 min  The started class and took down the chairs. We took out our reminders and wrote the agenda. After Elias read his blog, and he chose me for the blog. We took out our English notebooks for Ms. Nakada to review our work. After she finished, we worked on our essays of Inside Out & Back Again   and helped us in the essays by showing us examples.  After having worked on our  things, the bell rang  and we went to the next class.

We wrote the agenda of the day and Kim read her blog. After she read her blog she chose me to do the next blog. Ms. Nakada was showing us the song of the week by Alicia Keyes "If I Ain't Got You." After that, Ms. Nakada was showing us some poems. After we read all of them, our class had to work in our  essays  about Inside Out and Back Again .  Then, the bell rang, we packed up, pushed our chairs in, and left the class room.

  AGENDA: Take a minute blog correction readers/writer workshop week 6: Q.Q.S.L literature circles HW: RJ 6.2 read IXL iReady for 20-30 min upcoming book project due February 21st We got into class and put our chairs down. We did our agenda for the day and Mia read her blog. After she finished her blog, Ms. Nakada picked me to do my blog. Ms. Nakada discussed about picture day for the eighth graders and all the events that will happen for the eighth graders. When she finish discussing the events, we pulled out our writers workshop . We write about the Nicola Yoon quote and what characters think about love. "People spend their whole lives looking for love. Poems and song and entire novels are written about it. But how can you trust something that can end as soon as it begins?" The question was: Can you make someone fall in love with you? Then, we listened to a song, "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keyes and it was a good song. The song was interrupted by the bell,...

 Agenda Take a minute  Blog corrections readers/ writer's workshop  Week 6: Q.Q.S.L Literature Circles  We got into class took our chairs down and started writing down the Agenda. After, Alexandra started reading her blog and when she finished reading, she chose me. Then, we started working on readers/writer's workshop. After that, Ms. Nakada told us to take out our chromebooks and start working on our Inside Out & Back Again Essays. Then, we packed up and waited until Ms. Nakada dismissed us.

We then took out our binder reminders and wrote down the agenda and did take a minute. After that, we did blog-corrections, and I was chosen to do the blog next. Then, we do readers workshops and do Q, Q, S, L, the song of the week was "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday. After that, Ms. Nakada passed out the lines of the week. Once we're done with that we start on our I.O.A.B.A. essays. After that, the bell rings and we pack up and leave to our next class.

AGENDA Take a minute Blog corrections  Reader's workshop Week 5 : Q.Q.S.L I.O.&B.A   essays        We line up as Ms. Nakada opens the door and greets us. The class walks in as we put down our chairs , and settle by writing the agenda in our Binder Reminders. After the take a minute, Ms. Nakada reads Geovany's blog and asks who hasn't done their third blog. As I raised my hand, she called on me to write the next blog. Later on with the period, we work on the Q.Q.S.L with Ms. Nakada.  "Because being American is more than a pride we inherit-- It's the past we step into, and how we repair it." Whose shoulders do you stand on?  What do you stand for?  The bell rings, as we put our stuff away, and leave the classroom.

 AGENDA take a minute blog corrections reader's workshop week 5: Q.Q.S.L I.O.&.B.A. HW: RJ 5.1 Read or IXL or iReady for 20-30 min. We walked into class and put down our chairs, took a minute, and wrote down the agenda. After that, Ms. Nakada called Heidi to read her blog, and she chose me for the next one. Afterwards, we took out our writing journals. We wrote down Week 5 for the IXL, and iReady. Ms. Nakada passed out our scores for the Diagnostic Growth for the middle of the year. The bell rang, and we left class.

  Agenda Take a minute blog corrections reader's workshop I.O.& B. A.  essays Week 4 Quiz HW It's Groundhog Day! We came into the class, took our chairs down, and we wrote down the agenda. After we wrote down the agenda, we took ten minutes. When we finished our ten minutes, we did reader's workshop. Meanwhile Ms. Nakada came around to do binder reminder checks. After we finished, we did the I. O. &. B. A  essays. Then, we read an article talking about how hard the life of a refugee can be, and we wrote down what the article was about. After we finished, we did the Week 4 Quiz. We finished, the bell rang, we pushed our chairs in, and we left the class.

  AGENDA Take a minute  Blog corrections Reader's workshop I.O.&B.A.  essays HW RJ 4.4 Iready or IXL We came into the classroom and took down our chairs. We took out our binder reminders and wrote the agenda. Ms. Nakada played the meditation video. Then, Brian read his blog and picked me. We took out our Chromebooks to do reader's workshop. After ten minutes, we opened our English note books to work on our I.O.&B.A   essays. We worked on the back again part. When some people finished Ms. Nakada gives us a article paper to help with our essays. We packed up, and the bell rang. Then, we left.
